About

Most of the year I live and work in Brighton, an inspiring, artistic town on the south coast of England.  But we also retreat regularly to the Bourbonnais in the north of the Auvergne. This is where I do most of my messy yarn work – natural dyeing using local plant material, cyanotypes (blue prints from ferns, oak leaves etc) using the power of the sun and making up indigo vats, using every tree and hedge available for drying!

I have five more or less  grown up children and spend my non-yarn time travelling, reading, looking at buildings and going to exhibitions, concerts and the theatre, mostly in London.  I can cook, but I have to be in the mood and I prefer to do it in France. I spend a staggering amount of time fighting mess and clutter, but I prefer not to talk about that.
